Impotence: Erectile Dysfunction

IMPOTENCE

Impotence is the inability to achieve or maintain an erection suitable for sexual intercourse. An erection is produced by stimulation of penile nerves and increased blood flow into the penis. An erection is maintained by limiting the outflow of blood through the veins of the penis. Impotence is a very common disorder, especially among the elderly, and affects at least 10-15%(conservative estimate) of all adult males at some stage in their lives. Impotence may be a symptom of an underlying medical condition so we strongly recommend everyone to consult with your own doctor before deciding on a course of treatment.

CAUSES OF IMPOTENCE

These are varied and can be physical or psychological. Physical causes include, prescribed medications, venous leakage, ageing, high blood pressure, alcohol and drug abuse, smoking, diabetes, vascular disease, prostate surgery, spinal cord injury, radiation therapy, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease. Psychological causes include, stress, marital problems, performance anxiety, depression.

TREATMENTS

Many men do not want to or cannot be treated with drugs, muse or penile injections. Titan Healthcare have specialised in non-invasive treatments for the past 10 years. Vacuum Therapy is a very popular and safe treatment and the Erection Inducer Device (E.I.D.) has been proven to be successful in over 93% of cases.
